Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC)

Integrating affordable homes and sustainable transportation

AHSC provides funding for affordable housing developments (new construction or renovation) and transportation infrastructure. This may include sustainable transportation infrastructure, such as new transit vehicles, sidewalks, and bikeways; transportation-related amenities, such as bus shelters, benches, or shade trees; and other programs that encourage residents to walk, bike, and use public transit.

Historically, most successful awards have included a partnership between developers of affordable and mixed-income housing, local governments, regional transportation agencies, and public transit providers. Applicants are also welcome to submit joint proposals to
co-develop a project. Technical Assistance is available for application submission. Please see the program website for more information.

Round 8 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) will be released in January 2024, with an application deadline 60 days later, in March 2024.
